How to reserve a pup

All puppies and dogs from Melrose Kennels have all current immunizations and have been wormed.

Puppies are guaranteed for hip dysplasia and PRA.

A $100 deposit is required to reserve your pup. Puppy pick order will be determined by the order in which I receive the deposits.

Started and finished dogs are price on an individual basis; 50% deposit required.

Balance is due before shipping. Air shipping is available, cost of shipping is the actual cost plus, vet certificate cost and the price of the crate.

New puppy tips

Vaccines

Puppies should get their first vaccines around 6 weeks of age. They should get booster vaccines every 3-4 weeks until they are at least 16 weeks of age. Rabies vaccine can be given at 12 weeks of age. It is always recommended that you see your own veterinarian.

Housebreaking:

Don’t punish the dog for housebreaking accidents.

It is important to always clean up accidents

Take your puppy out on a leash immediately after waking up, drinking water, eating, playing

Be consistent with your schedule.

Praise puppy after elimination.

You can also increase the chance the puppy will have no accidents by crate training; make sure the crate is small enough the dog will not eliminate where he is forced to lie.

Puppy nutrition

All puppies need “growth” food. This will have all of the essentials for your pup to have a healthy start. All quality pet food are acceptable, just remember if switching brands to do it slowly to avoid any irritation to the pet’s stomach.
