What's New at Melrose Kennels PDF Print E-mail

Hello Everyone!

Hope you are having a good summer - it has been cool and wet here in Missouri.

I have been involved in forming a new chapter of Quail Forever in the Kansas City area. Your support of Quail Forever and Pheasant Forever is important to insure habitat and conservation of our game birds and wildlife.

Nancy Whitehead, a professional photographer, was here taking outstanding pictures of our Gordons for an upcoming book. She will return this fall to photograh these black Gordons in autumn colors.

Stan Bentall, a renowned sculptor from New Mexico, has a bronze statue or Melrose Tad available. They are beautiful.

Bird season is just around the corner, so be sure to condition and tune-up your dog.

Field grooming tip: Owners of Setters know what chore it is to remove burrs. Before the hunt rub your dog down with Mane and Tail conditioner (for horses). This will moisterize your dogs coat. After the hunt use a dematting rake and no-more tangles - it's easy on your dog and your fingers!

We are planning a litter for late fall.

Any questions about dog training or Gordons - just let me know.

 Russ
